About Me

A hobby writer, I have been creating prose and poetry since I first learned to hold a pencil. I greatly enjoy literature and revel in a good book; In my free time I can often be found with a pen in my hand and a book under my nose. I have always enjoyed telling a good story as much as I have hearing one. Some of my fondest memories involve my father’s nightly readings-often Grimm fairy tales and Hans Christian Anderson classics-and telling unbelievable stories huddled around a camp fire. Story telling is in my blood as much as it is in my heart. Not only did my father pass on a great love and respect of books, but my mother bequeathed me her creative story telling genes. As a child, every night she would send me to bed with a new and fantastical yarn she had spun just for me. From giants and witches, to detectives and spies, and everything in between, her tall tales would soar through my imagination leaving little traces of magic everywhere they landed. It is my goal (and hope) today that I can pass on just a little bit of that magic.

Though much of my inspiration is drawn from my own life, I also derive some influence from my favourite authors including, Edgar Allen Poe, J.R.R Tolkien, J.K Rowling and Charles Dickens (I have a warm spot in my heart for Moby Dick, my first Dickens read).

Among my many other hobbies, I also enjoy digital creation, drawing, painting, and photography. A nature enthusiast, I always find time for a hike and enjoy bird watching and plant identification.
